David Stanford is an experienced public sector executive with diverse experience across multiple countries. Commencing his career in Australia, he worked across a number of public sector and non-profit policy positions working on areas as diverse as energy, tax, consumer affairs and federal state fiscal relations. Upon moving to Canada in 2015, Mr. Stanford took up employment with the Alberta Public Service where he has taken on progressively responsible positions in Energy, Treasury Board and Finance, and Affordability and Utilities. He has taken on a number of distinct Assistant Deputy Minister roles in Red Tape Reduction, Economic Policy and Affordability. His academic qualifications are in Economics, Asian Studies and Public Sector Administration.
Mr. Stanford was appointed to the Balancing Pool Board of Directors effective September 12, 2023.
